In 2014, I interned at the Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network (RAINN). Part of my duties was to interview survivors and share their stories through various channels. One of those channels was the monthly Survivor Spotlight for the website and newsletter. These are two of my favorites.

November Survivor Spotlight: Runaway Prevention Awareness

In November 2014, we partnered with the National Runaway Safeline to spotlight survivors who ran away from home as an attempt to escape on-going abuse. I interviewed and profiled two survivors: Shikema Clark and Iris Smith.

October Survivor Spotlight: Domestic Violence Awareness

For the October 2014 edition, I did a solo profile on Dr. Jameelah Medina, who was repeatedly beaten and raped by her husband. This was part of a collaboration with the National Domestic Violence Hotline for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
